De Stijl, Dutch for "The Style", was an artistic movement founded after the first World War in the Netherlands by painters, designers, architects, writers and art critics: Gerrit Rietveld, Vilmos Huszár, Piet Mondriaan (later Mondrian) and Theo van Doesburg.
